the Answer to Cheaper Gas !!

As a real estate agent here in Phoenix, driving is a way of life. gas prices at the pump

It takes 15 minutes to get to most parts of Scottsdale. It takes 30 minutes to get to Peoria and can take as much as an hour to get from Peoria to the east vally cities of Mesa, Gilbert and Chandler.

Each day gas prices hit record highs. We are all frustrated.

I am taking a poll. Please Vot on the ideas below.

I would like to hear everyones opinion.

As I see it, here are the 4 ideas for cheaper gas so the extra disposable income can go towards economic consumption which helps the economy, creates, jobs, ideas, innovation, more revenue for the government, more cosical programs and ultimately more wealth for all.

Gas Tax Cut -  would be immedieate , however, people fear that this will just cause more gas consumption

Income tax cut - maybe on the first $75K income so that the groups more affected have more disposable income

Increase taxes - spending money on programs for finding alternative energy sources

Open US oil reserves by drilling in places like Alaska -   less dependant on foreign oil

whether you are a real estate agent, a soccer mom, a hard worker with a lengthy commute to work, simply if you own a car, we are all affected.

Please weigh in, vote, let your ideas be heard and if anybody has others, please add..

thanks and have a great weekend

James - I've got another one - raise taxes on automotive manufacturers who are not offering affordable vehicles that save gas.  Or some other way to increase incentives for more fuel efficient vehicles.  These are standard in Europe - why not here?

None of these will have an immediate positive impact.

I vote as follows:

1. Tax cut for immediate relief.  With gas effecting the cost of food, and more, this would help those stuggling especially in areas with poor public transportation.

Did not vote for 2 because this would serve no help in the immediate future

Did not vote for 3 because the tax increase would be passed on to the consumer, raising prices further.

I think we should be more self sufficient, so I would give a long term vote for 4.

I do think speculation in oil needs to be regulated.  So I add this to the list of ideas.

5. Regulate oil speculation.

Alternative energy is the way to go.  We need to be looking into renewable energy sources so we stop depleting the earth of the natural ones.

It will be tuff to get any of these going, there are too many corporations and large entities making billions of dollara

I say # 4 above....my understanding is the US has 50 years worth of untapped gas.  Why do we have to be dependent on foreign oil?  Then during that 50 year peiod we could look at alternatives to gas and get that in place before it's all eaten up?  Lowering taxes just puts us more in debt as a nation.  How about lowering some salaries of the oil tycoons?  Or the higher up government employees - some of these dudes and dudettes make millions of $$$$ a year on our taxes!

I think we need to do our part, namely:

Carpool

Check the air pressure in your tires weekly. It is estimated if we keep our tires inflated properly that each person would save $500 a year on gas. Google this if you don't believe me.

How can we carpool when we are taking clients out??????  Can't take them on public transportation or bike either - at least not in the Arizona or Nevada heat!  Most cities mass transit sucks!  We need to be more like Europe with their mass transit.  sorry....got me on my high horse on this subject

Hello James! It is so nice to meet you. Thank you for stopping by my Amber Alert. I am in the process of building an outside blog but as of yet I do not have one.

I am going to (within the next few days) build a new community that will allow us as a team to put out the alerts. I am in the makeover2takeover contest right now with AR and it is consuming all my time.

I will look forward to hearing more from you! Later in the rain~Deb
